Updating the brand of a digital therapeutic OG

Big Health builds mobile products that make effective mental health care accessible to everyone. Their scalable, CBT-based, digital programmes for insomnia and anxiety are both fun to use and highly effective.

Over 7 years they successfully grew from a UK-based mental health start up with 1 product, 5 employees and a handful of clients, to a company that leads the Digital Therapeutics category. 200+ people, 40+ large employer clients, expanding product portfolio and a wealth of clinical research that surpasses even long-established pharmaceutical companies. It was time to revisit and refresh their brand to better represent their achievements and future goals.

After conducting interviews across the company we discovered two particular areas of focus:

Clinical excellence - Accumulating gold-standard evidence on the efficacy of their products, - following established protocols to prove patient improvements - became a pillar of the brand. One that creates a solid foundation that sees evidence as a duty and not a chore.

Patient care - Always doing what is right for the patient and their needs and providing safe and effective care for those with the most prominent health problems.  

These two areas became the bedrock for the Big Health brand and identity.  

A secondary concern for the process was to explore how we might better consolidate the product brands with the parent brand. Creating a system that unites the identities into a family with colour and typography. We also evaluated both internal and external facing messaging and established a company mission, values and vision.
